SALEM — After a year of inactivity at a barren site downtown, the company looking to build a Hampton Inn is on track to get its project rolling midway into the coming year.
Somerville-based developer RCG originally planned to erect a $50 million hotel, retail and housing complex on Washington and Dodge streets, the site of a former strip mall that was leveled more than a year ago. Hotel manager Maine Course Hospitality Group has since taken over as developer of the project, and they’re currently before city boards and commissions to get tweaks to the plans approved.
